Pliskova made an exciting 1/4-final against Halep

Karolina Pliskova, the sixth placed in the Australian Open, is expected to qualify for the quarterfinals of the Melbourne tournament. The Czech tennis player turned his compatriot Barbora Strycova for 2 hours and 43 minutes after 6:7 (5), 6:3, 6:2, but its next obstacle is even more impressive - the world number 1 Simona Halep. That is what is expected to be the most exciting duel of this phase with the ladies, with the winner of it making a serious request for the first Grand Slam title.

Pliskova made 42 wins against her opponent, while the unprovoked mistakes were comparatively equal - 35 against 33. Both were solid at first serve (68% and 75%), but Pliskova`s second shot was more effective and thisalso tilts the balance in its favor - 56% versus 38%.

The pre-ranked chef was aggressive enough in the second and third sets to impose his superiority, as he often entered the court and was solid at the turn. She again reinforced the impression that she felt better on fast courts than on grass where her only loss was from Strycova - in Birmingham in 2016, or else last year Pliskova set in two sets over her opponent in Miami.

The Rhode Island Arina meeting ended at 1:35 am after midnight and the two check-ins showed a very solid game and fought to last for the victory, with the game lasting over 2 hours and 40 minutes.

There were no breakthroughs in the first set and a tiebreak playing. In it, Strycova started better, led by 4:1 points, and although he missed a setball on his serve, the 31-year-old was unbeaten at the second chance.

In the second set, however, Pliskova led the game adviced by partners of football predictions quickly with 4:1 and after only 43 minutes the sixth in the world ranked the 1:1 set.

The third set unexpectedly began with a breakthrough of Strycova in the first game, but in the second Pliskova returned the breakthrough. This clearly broke Strycova and she lost the next 3 games, and a little later Pliskova secured her ranking for the next stage after 6:2 in the set.
